Where do you source your materials from?
We source primarily from the United Kingdom – this guarantees our materials are making shorter journeys, reducing our carbon foot print and we’re supporting British industry. Unfortunately some primary wrapping materials, like tissue paper, are no
longer manufactured in the UK so we do source from Europe from time to time.

Is paper compostable or biodegradable?
It can be both. Paper is one of the world’s truly renewable resources - made from organic material (trees) and if treated properly in the manufacturing process (without toxic dyes or plastic coatings) it can be home composted and should only take 2 to 6 weeks to decompose. More importantly, paper can also be recycled and turned into a new product contributing to what is known as a circular economy.

What is sustainable paper?
Although paper is a renewable resource, it must be sourced in a responsible way. What this essentially means is that trees, the key, raw material used to make paper, is sourced from sustainably managed forests, where the cycle of planting, growing
and logging is carefully controlled. Non for profit organisations like The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) promotes responsible management of the world’s forests via timber certifications. We endeavour to source all paper with the trusted FSC or approved symbol. You can read more about that here.
